Seattle Seahawks information
The Seattle Seahawks are currently members of the NFC West division, as they were when they first entered the league in 1976. After the 1st season, however, the Seahawks switched places with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and joined the AFC West. They would remain in the AFC for 26 years until 2002 when the NFL realigned the divisions due to the increasing number of franchises. The Seahawks were once again added to the NFC West making them the only team in history to switch conferences twice.

In their 30 year history, the Seahawks have made the playoffs 7 times and have advanced to the Super Bowl only once. That Super Bowl appearance was in XL losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Seattle has won the AFC west division twice and the NFC west division twice. They are also the only team in history to have played in a conference championship game for both the NFC and AFC.

The Seahawks have had some Hall of Fame players on their roster over the years. They include: Carl Eller, Franco Harris, Steve Largent, Warren Moon, and Jerry Rice. Of those players, Steve Largent is the most recognized by the Seahawk faithful as he played his entire career (aside from 3 preseason games) in Seattle. He was a pro-bowler 7 times and is a member of the 1980's All-Decade Team and not to mention a former member of the House of Representatives.

The Seahawk fans are some of the most devoted and recognized in the NFL; they are nick-named "The Twelfth Man." This name came about because the noise level the fans create when the opposition has the ball is such an advantage it is like they are playing with an extra man on the field. The team has even retired the number 12, in dedication to the fans.
